Movie Monday - Movies that I love, soundtracks that I adore !

I prepared a list of the top 10 movie soundtracks with lyrics that I love. I wanted not to choose the classic ones like Celine Dion's soundtrack song in Titanic but I couldn't resists starting without Aerosmith's beloved song I don't wanna miss a thing...

1) Armageddon : Aerosmith - I don't want to miss a thing


Written by Diane Warren for the 1998  film Armageddon , the song debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (the first #1 for the band after 28 years together).

2)  Transformers 2: Linkin Park - New Divide

"New Divide" is a song by GrammyAward-winning band American rock band Linkin Park.The song is released as a single and was recorded specifically for Michael Bay's film Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen. On May 19,2009 "New Divide" was released exclusively on iTunes, and then later in Revenge of the Fallen's album.


3) The Hunger Games Catching Fire : Lorde - Everybody Wants To Rule The World
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire  is the official soundtrack to the 2013 American science fiction flim Hunger Games  that was released through RepublicRecords on November 15, 2013. Lord covered "Everybody Wants To Rule The World"(originally recorded by band Tears for Fears ) for the needs of the movie. The album sold 151,000 copies in the US in 2013, making it the seventh best-selling soundtrack album for the year.


4) James Bond : Adele - Skyfall 
"Skyfall" is the theme song of the 2012 James Bond, performed by British singer-songwriter Adele. It was written by Adele and producer Paul Epworth and features orchestration by J.A.C Redford.. Film company Eon Productions invited the singer to work on the theme song in early 2011, a task that Adele accepted after reading the film's script. While composing the song, Adele and Epworth aimed to capture the mood and style of the other Bond Themes , including dark and moody lyrics descriptive of the film's plot.


5) Maleficent :  Lana Del Rey - Once Upon A Dream

"Once Upon a Dream" is a song based on Tchaikovsky's  homonymous ballet The slleping beauty , more specifically the piece "Grande valse villageoise (a.k.a. The Garland Waltz)", that was written in 1959 for Disney's animated film.  In 2014 "Once Upon a Dream" was covered by American singer-songwriter Lana Del Rey  for the film Maleficent which serves as a prequel to and re imagining of the original Sleeping Beauty  (1959). The song was released on January 26, 2014; it was made available as a free digital download  during its first week of availability by the Google Play  Store. On February 4, the digital download was made available for purchase. Angelina Jolie, who plays the film's lead role, picked Del Rey herself to perform the song.



6) Avatar : Leona Lewis - I See You

"I See You (Theme from Avatar)" (also referred to as "I See You") is the official theme song recorded by British singer Leona Lewis for the 2009 film Avatar, directed by James Cameron It was written by James Horner and Kuk Harrell with production done by Simon Franglen.



7) Alice in Wonderland : Avril Lavigne - Alice 

"Alice" is a song written and performed by Canadian singer-songwriter Avril Lavigne for Alice  the soundtrack to the 2010 film Alice in wonderland . Lavigne wrote the song after asking Disney  executives and film director Tim Burton  if she could write a song for the film. The song was produced by Butch Walker  and mixed by Lavigne's former husband Deryck Whibley .

8) Sweet November : Enya - Only Time

"Only Time" is a song composed and recorded by Irish  singer Enya , first released in November 2000. In 2001 "Only Time" was released again as a remix. The track was remixed by the Swiss American Federation (S.A.F.) (Christian B. and Marc Dold) with a final remix by Enya's producer, Nicky Ryan . Enya donated the earnings from the sale of that single to the Uniform Firefighters Association's Widows' and Children's Fund to help the families of fire fighters in the aftermath of 9/11 .The song was  featured in the soundtrack of the 2001 motion picture Sweet November .



9) Rocky Roberts & Luis Bacalov : Django Unchained - Django
Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained  is the soundtrack to  motion picture Django Unchained Movie . It was originally released on December 18, 2012. The soundtrack uses a variety of music genres, relying heavily on spaghetti western soundtrack. It was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack fro Visual Media.  

10) Last but not least : Moulin Rouge - El Tango de Roxanne 

"Roxanne" is a song by the rock band The Police , written by Sting, the song was released in  1978  as a single and on their album Outlando's d'Amour . On re-release in 1979, the song peaked at number 12 on the UK Single Chart. The song ranked No. 388 on the Rolling Stone 500 Greatest of All Time's Songs  and was voted #85 by VH1 on its list of the 100 Greatest Rock Songs.In 2001, the song was one of the many remixed covers in the film Moulin Rouge  named "El Tango de Roxanne", which was combined with the tango composition "Tanguera" by Mariano Mores  In 2008, "Roxanne" was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame..
